"In the darkness something was happening at last. A voice had begun to sing...its lower notes were deep enough to be the voice of the earth herself...It was a Lion. Huge, shaggy, and bright, it stood facing the risen sun."
--from "The Magician's Nephew - The Chronicles of Narnia" by C.S. Lewis

First of all, wow, just wow. You did a brilliant job on this piece and congrats on the DD!
I really like how the lines in this painting are flowing and begin to spread out towards the right - it makes the mane look really grand and majestic. I also like your use of colour because the blue and red/orange contrast together well and they make the lion stand out and look 'bright' like in the book.
I think the amount of detail in this is great too - with the highlights and shadows because it adds another dimension to the painting - from a distance it looks a bit like it's popping out Also, it shows how Aslan is facing the 'risen sun'.
Sorry for the lower mark in originality, but I've seen a few paintings like this. Overall, I think this is a really great paiting. Aslan would be proud!
