"In the darkness something was happening at last. A voice had begun to sing...its lower notes were deep enough to be the voice of the earth herself...It was a Lion. Huge, shaggy, and bright, it stood facing the risen sun."
--from "The Magician's Nephew - The Chronicles of Narnia" by C.S. Lewis

This is such a beautiful piece. The way you paint Aslan's mane creates such a lovely contrast between the blue background and itself. I also respect how the misty dark air coming from this feline's mouth is smooth. I love the accent his cheeks and the swirl designs both on the background and on the lion. There is nothing that bad about this work of art, in my opinion, yet there still seems to be a problem for me. Why do you paint so stunningly? *Laughs*
So to sum all of it up, I love everything. The contrast, colors, brightness, highlighting, and the design. Keep up to great work, Leah! You just earned a new watcher!
This is a beautifully painted picture, which I believe looks like Aslan would really start speaking.
All the details are amazing, you've added all the depth into the work and he's got a 3D look. The lines all flow really well, all of them blend and stand out in the right places. The colours you've chosen make it look like the part of the book you've chosen, facing the sun. The patterns in the blue make it look like he's drawing in a breath to sing the next note.
I like how the main theme is Aslan and there isn't a distracting background. It gives you room to imagine.

All in all, it's a brilliant piece of work.
